Westside / A campaign story

A store has changed.
Make people curious.

A makeover was news for the business. A journey through Bombay gave the audience an invitation to discover it.

Westside’s South Bombay flagship was being revamped. For customers who already knew the store, the reopening needed to offer a reason to return: a new space to explore and fresh arrivals to discover. Our in-house digital campaign had to make that change feel worth a visit before people had stepped through the doors.

We built the film around an imaginary customer arriving in Bombay. The journey begins in the city, taking in its movement and atmosphere before reaching Westside. That gave the reopening a setting beyond the store itself and placed the viewer in the position of someone on their way to see what had changed.

When the customer arrives, the store is still under construction. Through their point of view, we watch it come together in time-lapse, then fill with fresh arrivals. The transformation becomes the story: the audience sees the work in progress and the anticipation building towards a store ready to welcome them back.

That point-of-view treatment connected two parts of the brief that might otherwise have become a straightforward announcement: the pleasure of being out in Bombay and the curiosity of seeing a familiar destination afresh. The campaign helped draw customers back to the renewed flagship, with the store’s own transformation becoming the invitation to visit.

An invitation is more interesting than an announcement.

The work, on screen.

A different brief.
The same curiosity.
