The taskGive a technical proposition a relatable brand voice

For a startup such as Smarten, introducing a solar-inverter range also meant finding a clear, consistent voice for the first time. The films had to establish the flagship products and give the brand a way to speak to the non-urban households it served. The product’s technical capabilities mattered, but so did what continuous power and lower household costs could mean to the people buying it. The campaign had to connect those two sides of the brief.

We started with observations of small-town life, where power cuts are familiar and even a few hundred rupees saved each month can make a meaningful difference. Those details gave the product a place in a story about a household, a couple and the choices that shape their everyday lives. Choosing solar could be understood through its practical and emotional consequences, rather than through technical explanation alone.

Developed entirely in-house, the films made that thinking visible in both the writing and the treatment. The stories gave the audience characters and situations to follow, while presenting the person who makes the solar choice as someone thinking intelligently about the household’s future.

The visuals were polished without losing the texture of the setting or its people. Light and darkness were especially important: they had to feel real within the scenes, because the presence or absence of power was part of the characters’ lives. That choice helped the setting carry the product story rather than merely sit behind it.

Alongside its digital and social viewership, the campaign gave Smarten a clear starting point for future communication: a brand voice grounded in the everyday value of a smarter energy choice.

Technology becomes meaningful when you can see what it changes for a person.

The work, on screen.

A different brief.
The same curiosity.
