Brand Factory / A campaign story

A big weekend.
The people behind it.

A free shopping weekend begins long before the first customer arrives. Brand Factory’s getting-ready film turned the camera towards the people making it happen.

Free Shopping Weekend was a major sales event for Brand Factory. Before customers arrived, stores had to prepare for it: façades were spruced up, large volumes of stock came in, merchandise was sorted and placed, and promotional material was installed. The brand wanted a film that would make that preparation visible to audiences both inside and outside the organisation.

The practical challenge was to capture the work cinematically without getting in its way. Preparations were happening for a real retail event, so the film had to find its story within that activity. We followed the people and the effort behind it, from the arrival of inventory to the placement of gondolas and standees.

The human angle gave the many separate tasks a shared meaning. Planning, teamwork and implementation became the thread connecting everything on screen. The film could show the scale of the preparations while keeping attention on the staff making them happen.

For an external audience, it opened up the behind-the-scenes work involved in staging a nationwide fashion-shopping event. For employees, the same footage recognised their contribution and helped build motivation for the busy weekend ahead. Those two uses belonged naturally in one film because both began with seeing the work more clearly.

The finished piece served Brand Factory as both PR communication and an internal team film, building anticipation for Free Shopping Weekend through the people preparing to deliver it.

Before the shopping comes the work.

The work, on screen.

A different brief.
The same curiosity.
