Cipla’s Strikers films set out to recognise the people behind strong performance and give their colleagues something to take from those stories. The figures mattered, but the films also needed to make the effort behind them visible: how someone worked, what made their territory challenging and what kept them looking for further possibilities.

The preparation began with listening. A pre-interview conversation explored an employee’s personal and professional life, working methods and experience of the territory. That groundwork gave us a way into the person’s story before deciding how their achievements should be presented on screen.

We wanted the performance data to find its place within that account. Connected to the circumstances and work behind it, a result could help tell the story instead of interrupting it with a separate block of information. The audience could understand the achievement in relation to the person who had made it possible.

The tone needed care as well. Someone being recognised should remain a colleague others could identify with, rather than become an untouchable hero. The intention was for viewers to recognise parts of their own working lives and see possibilities for themselves.

Across the three films, recognition and encouragement formed one brief: appreciate the individual’s contribution while giving the wider team a story they could relate to.

Recognition begins with seeing the person behind the performance.

The work, on screen.

A different brief.
The same curiosity.
